ExplainVest Pilot Program
Built for IFAs and wealth teams: validate your documentation workflow with deterministic, evidence-backed outputs across validated verdicts, validated portfolio views, and ETF analytics.
Deterministic means the same inputs produce the same outputs, helping teams keep research repeatable and auditable.
Pilot fee & commitment
- Pilot fee is fully credited toward your first annual subscription when you continue.
- If we don't meet the success criteria agreed in writing (see below), there is no obligation to subscribe. The review is based on criteria we can verify from platform usage where possible—without asking your firm for proprietary client data.
Written success criteria
Agree 2–4 targets in week one—often tied to Research usage (exports, Wealth Lite, ETF Portfolio Builder) so we can verify progress from platform stats.
Advisor Onboarding Support
Weekly check-ins focused on real IFA workflows: research to explainability to documentation to compliance review.
Evidence & Audit Review
End-of-pilot review of documentation quality, transparency, audit traceability, and advisor adoption.
How this fits IFA workflow
Practical alignment points for UK advisory teams — descriptive only, not legal advice. Your firm remains responsible for advice, suitability, and governance.
Record keeping (SYSC 9)
Research outputs carry timestamped audit trails, data sources, and model versioning where applicable.
Suitability (COBS 9)
Supports suitability documentation with evidence-backed rationale — the advisor remains the decision-maker.
PROD (product governance)
Structured, repeatable analysis inputs for investment selection and review processes.
Audit / oversight
Exports and trails designed for compliance review and internal governance.
How advisors typically use this
- As research input — not a substitute for your investment process.
- Cross-check outputs against client facts, objectives, and constraints.
- Fold evidence and rationale into internal notes, committees, and file documentation.
- Not used as a standalone recommendation or automated client instruction.
Program Structure
6-8 weeks from onboarding to results review
Week 1: Setup & Onboarding
- Kickoff + workflow mapping for your advisory process (30-45 mins)
- Enable core Research views: Wealth Lite, Validated Verdict, Validated Portfolio, Backtested Portfolio, and ETF views
- 1 guided walkthrough on one of your real stocks/ETFs from research to export
- Agree 2-4 written success targets tied to measurable Research usage (exports, Wealth Lite runs, ETF Builder runs)
Weeks 2-6: Active Usage with Support
- Use core Research workflows in day-to-day client file preparation
- Light-touch support cadence (typically one short check-in per week)
- Track platform metrics: research runs, exports, and key workflow completion
- Address priority setup/issues quickly; keep pilot overhead low for both teams
Weeks 7-8: Results Review
- Final review of agreed usage targets and workflow outcomes
- Concise pilot report: what was used, what improved, and open gaps
- Targeted tuning recommendations for Wealth Lite, validated views, and ETF Builder
- Decision checkpoint: continue to subscription (credit applied) or close pilot
Success criteria (agreed upfront)
In week one we agree 2–4 written targets. Where possible, success is checked using platform statistics we already hold (Research area usage, exports, pipeline runs)—so you are not asked to supply proprietary client data just to prove the pilot.
Research menu (illustrative metrics)
Aligns with the in-app Research area: Wealth Lite, Validated Verdict, Validated Portfolio, Backtested Portfolio, ETF Validated Verdicts, ETF Portfolio Builder.
- Client- or file-ready exportsExample: at least [X] suitable evidence-backed exports (e.g. from Reports / verdict or portfolio research views)—counts we can verify on the platform.
- Wealth Lite usageExample: at least [X] completed Wealth Lite runs (or equivalent sessions recorded in the product).
- ETF Portfolio Builder usageExample: at least [X] successful ETF Portfolio Builder runs (e.g. queued pipeline runs completed during the pilot window).
- Core research depth (optional)Example: minimum [X] distinct research sessions or exports across Validated Verdict, Validated Portfolio, Backtested Portfolio, or ETF Validated Verdicts—worded to match what we can measure for your org.
Qualitative goals (documentation quality, compliance confidence) can sit alongside these as narrative review points—they are harder to prove from stats alone, so we pair them with the measurable Research targets above.

Sample outputs from pilot
During the pilot we review real usage and documentation quality against agreed criteria. The same redacted UI gallery we walk through is available as a dedicated product snapshot — Wealth Lite, verdicts, portfolio views, ETF flows, exports, and more.

Wealth Lite — client inputs
Scenario inputs and optional advanced fields — planning aid for adviser-led suitability context.

Wealth Lite — goals & feasibility
Goal feasibility metrics and projected wealth bands — evidence for internal review, not a standalone recommendation.

Wealth Lite — allocation plan
Strategic mix and risk/return characteristics — structured inputs for governance and file documentation.

Wealth Lite — review (profile & runs)
Derived risk snapshot, input recap, run history, and audit/engine metadata — plus PDF/JSON exports.

Validated verdict
Verdict, confidence, and rationale structure — typical equity research output.

Validated portfolio
Portfolio diagnostics, concentration, and export actions (PDF / compliance JSON).

Client-ready report
Illustrative export layout suitable for file notes and review packs.

ETF analysis view
Methodology, run context, and explainability blocks for ETF research.

Backtested portfolio (historical)
Historical simulation context only — not a forecast of returns.

Reports library
Timestamped exports and downloadable PDF/HTML — audit-friendly trail.

ETF Portfolio Builder
Target mix, guardrails, and run controls — ties to “builder runs” pilot metrics.

ETF sleeve lineup
Allocation, roles, and sleeve-level evidence for governance review.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the pilot program for?
Independent financial advisors (IFAs), wealth managers, and advisory firms. This program is for qualified B2B teams, not individual retail investors.
Best fit / not ideal
Best fit: advisors producing regular investment rationale, and firms with compliance oversight.
Not ideal: casual users, or firms using fully outsourced investment models.
What if success criteria aren't met?
Criteria are agreed in writing in week one (see Success criteria). At the end-of-pilot review, if those criteria are not met, there is no obligation to take a subscription. We still recommend completing the pilot window so platform usage stats are fair and measurable.
Can I stop early?
You can exit the pilot engagement subject to your order terms. The pilot fee is a paid programme; we suggest running the agreed 6–8 weeks so Research usage and export metrics reflect real adoption.
Is the pilot fee credited?
Yes. If you subscribe to an annual plan after the pilot, the full pilot fee is credited toward your first year.
What happens after the pilot?
You receive a review against the agreed criteria (including Research usage where applicable) and choose whether to continue. If criteria were met and you subscribe, the credit applies; if not, there is no subscription obligation.
